Mapei Silancolor Pittura Zero combines the advantages of traditional mineral based paints with the ones of synthetic paints. Thanks to its particular formulation, the product does not alter the substrate’s breathability and makes it highly water-repellent. Once applied, Silancolor Pittura Zero forms a film with micropores sufficiently tight to repel water and at the same time wide enough to allow the passage of water vapour, thus maintaining the wall dry.
Silancolor Pittura Zero perfectly adheres to all types of traditional render, de-humidifying renders and old well-adhering paints. The water-repellent properties of Silancolor Pittura Zero protect the substrate from chemical aggression, making it very difficult for dirt to attach to the surface and making the substrate highly resistant to washings and durable over time. Silancolor Pittura Zero is particularly resistant to the growth of algae, moulds and fungi. It may be used to paint walls that have already b en damaged by such microorganisms after removing them and cleaning the
surface, or to prevent them forming by painting buildings (and structures) in areas where the particularly damp climate encourages their growth. A typical example of application is painting north-facing façades, which are particularly subjected to algae growth being the coldest and dampest walls of the building. Silancolor Pittura Zero contains a product specifically formulated to control the growth of mould and algae.
Mapei Silancolor Pittura Zero, used in combination with Mapei Silancolor Primer Plus or Mapei Silancolor Base Coat Plus and, where necessary, with Mapei Silancolor Cleaner Plus, forms a complete protection system against biological aggression and provides a defence for surfaces which remains durable over the years. Apart from protecting substrates, Silancolor Pittura Zero forms an attractive finish and is available in a wide range of colours, obtained using the ColorMap® automatic tinting system.
Mapei Silancolor Pittura Zero is part of the CO Fully Offset in the Entire Life Cycle line of products. CO emissions measured throughout the life cycle of products from the Zero line in 2024 using Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) methodology, verified and certified with EPDs, have been offset through the acquisition of certified carbon credits in support of forestry protection projects.
